Mathematical Model for Ligament Influence on Spinal Stability

چکیده
We consider the influence of ligaments on spinal stability. The human spine has an initial curvature which should be taken into account when dealing with spinal stability. A formula for the change in subtended distance between two curves will be derived. This formula will be integrated with the variational method in order to obtain a relation for spinal stability. Stability requires two conditions from a mathematical point of view. From these two conditions a criterion for spinal stability is obtained.
